How do I explain this hair style to my hair stylist?

Well this is how I want the hair style to be(I'm going to bring in this picture also but I want an explanation too)

And this is how my hair looks now its sorta the same but I messed it up when i cut it myself xD since its all the same length at the top

and theres a lot of short choppy layers, and thats about it.
